Shows!
‘As an ex-professional dancer with many years of performing to draw from, I am passionate about encouraging my BYSD children to perform at what ever level they feel comfortable with. I believe they can only benefit from the confidence they gain and the creativity they are allowed to express, especially when they start at a young age.
Even if performing is not a career they want to pursue in later life, preforming on stage at an early age increases a child’s confidence to be able speak in front of a group of people – like speaking in front of their class for example.
Over the years I have taken children to perform on many stages. For example Carlisle Sands Centre, Theatre by the Lake, Keswick; London’s West End, Penrith Playhouse, Rheged Penrith, local hotels and even on board a Mediterranean Cruise ship!
I am passionate about choreographing engaging routines that included all members of the School at all levels, to enable them to showcase their talents. I try to encourage students to push themselves and achieve things they didn’t realise they were capable of.
Classes are designed to be exciting and fun and also all inclusive. Following a structured lesson plan and attending classes regular classes improves discipline and has immense health benefits.
Regular shows and exams, provide students with valuable experience and boosts confidence. Working towards shows and exams means that the students are rewarded for their efforts either by the appreciation and love from their audience; or the excellent grades they regularly receive following exams.
